A big week!

Hey guys,
So this is a big week - our first week of no Sunday morning rehearsal! A couple things I wanted to explain...
We will need to be in the gym and ready to sound check at 10:10. This gives us precious little time. If you will be attending a bible class, I ask you leave 5 minutes early if you wouldn't mind. If not, especially those with instruments to set up, it would be best to have you there by 10 or earlier. I intend to have all monitors, microphones, etc. checked and working by this time so all we will need to do is get a final mix for the mains and monitors.
Tuesday rehearsal is of course extremely important. Please make every effort to attend.
Here is this week's song list...

The Solid Rock
Revelation Song
Lamp
Devotion
Nothing But the Blood
All to Us
My Deliverer

Thanks everyone!

This Week

Hey Guys -
I've been really happy with how things have been going and sounding lately. The new song "All to Us" I think is going really well and I thought "Lamp" sounded great and you all picked up on it quickly.
We will start rehearsals the Tues after Labor Day - next week. I know its hard to change things around with everyone's schedules, but if we could try to make it to rehearsals, that would be great. This will become increasingly important Oct 2nd and beyond.
Here is this week's list...

Lamp

Praise to the Lord
All to Us
Devotion
Doxology (if needed)
Lead Me Home

New Songs for Fall

Hey guys -

I'd like us to introduce a few new songs for the fall and right now I know of three of them for sure. They are...

"All to Us" by Christ Tomlin (which we are introducing this weekend)

"Lamp" by Charlie Hall (which I would like to introduce in a few weeks and use it as the Alleluia Gospel Acclamation)

and "Here for You" by Chris Tomlin (to be introduced Oct. 1st.)

You can listen to the songs by following the links. Unfortunately I couldn't find the song "Lamp" posted anywhere so if you would like to listen to it, let me know and I'll send you an mp3. You can also listen to a good portion of the song as a preview on iTunes.

I am also planning on switching our liturgy starting Oct. 1st as well. I am working on a setting based on the song "Remembrance" that we have done a few times already in the past. I think its going to work really well.

This Week

Hey guys - here is what's going on this week.

We are going to introduce a new song the next few weeks, and I thought we could try it out for communion. While I don't like the idea of throwing a new song right at us, we'll keep it very simple at least for this week. Check it out here or in the below video.

Here is the list...
Reign in Us
God of Wonders
Praise to the Lord
Devotion
All to Us (the new song)

Next week there is the Remedy Drive concert on Thursday (3-24). Because of that, we can't practice that night, but I would love to be able to practice that Tues before (2-22). There is some new material to work on and I would really like to be able to have a good practice. (All My Fountains - click on the link to listen, I think its an illegal Japanese video or something).

Make sure you check out the Ash Wed post below if you haven't already!

Ash Wed?!

Believe it or not, its next Wed. Because of the large crowd we had last year we are holding the service at the NC. The service will be more of a NC feel than a SC feel as far as the music goes.
Could you all let me know who is willing/available to help out? There may need to be a short practice on either Mon or Tues as well, but we can figure that out with everyone's schedule.
Note: This is the only midweek Lenten service that will be held at the NC until we get into Holy Week where we play for Maunday Thursday again and then of course the Vigil.
